We didn't have shortening in the cabinet! (We usually have at least a few pounds around.) So I made short pastry for the pies, from the LeNôtre book. Go go butter pastry! And mmm, much tastier than shortening.

Gaucha is invited to every Thanksgiving forEVER! She got too restless watching me cook (my favorite way to ask for help is to ask for company), so she started cleaning. I never ran out of counter space or utensils or bowls or anything. And the dining room table is completely clean, leftovers put away and all serivng dishes and pots and pans cleaned. Awesome!
Now I've got to get out of the house - the boys want to be to Best Buy by 11??
