a preview of things to come

Flood had me up at 2, 4 and 6 last night. I'm hoping that she was just reacting to not getting as much attention from me yesterday, as well as all the fireworks last night.

Oddly, Flood didn't show any obvious signs of being upset by the fireworks while they were happening. She'll be the first dog I've ever had that wasn't afraid of fireworks or thunder.

Yesterday was a restful day. We had a late breakfast, yummy muffins for lunch while grocery shopping, and then a very filling "picnic" dinner. Wolf broiled steaks for himself and me, and Sydb had hotdogs. We had mashed potatoes and green beans to go with, and it had the feel of a picnic dinner, without the ants. :)

I'm feeling mildly grumpy about barking dogs. Neither Sydb or Wolf has complained to me about Flood's performance last night, although I know that it kept Sydb out of bed for at least part of the night. Just what she needs, more night wakefulness before Roo is here. I had visions of sleeping outside, since Flood was quiet whenever I was out there.

Today, some mall-walking. I'm in the market for some new hairbands.

And napping sounds good.
