Routine Ramblings of an Occasionally Interesting Housewife

lazy day in the sun
okay, I let myself get a little pink. But I had lots of fun. We went swimming at Mom's friend's house, and they allow dogs in the pool. Only Shadow, Mom's pom, and Marley, a new Husky-German Shepherd mix puppy actually got in. They have foam floats that are sturdy enough for small dogs. There were also a "Dr. Suess" style Chihuahua-some-with-long-hair mix, a shitzu and another mop dog. Lots of cute fur runnng around the yard. :)

I played around with my camera a bit more. And set up email on my phone. I talked to Flar. One closing down, another to go next week. He's expecting all sorts of checks to come in, so money's okay for now.

Flood went for a checkup today, and her eyes are not quite well yet. Flar says they gave her two different kinds of drops, and that she was squinting later, like one does after getting eye drops. He hasn't noticed a droopy ear like She_ mentioned -- I'll have to wait and see for myself, I suppose.

Flar is definitely coming to Orlando to meet us, and I've finally gotten around to making rental car arrangements. I need to make a hotel reservation for DC, and then we'll be all set.

Now that I've figured out how easily I can get to the net from my phone, I'm also looking more closely at my service plan tonight, to see about upgrading net access...

Well...the eyedrops were so bad :( The first ones, she was acting all weird after them and scratching at them, so the doctor kept her. She had never seen a dog react to the drops like that, a severe sensitivity she said, so she washed them out and put this ointment in them to try and help, which it did, but she was still squishing her eyes shut the whole way home. The doctor put them in cause when we got there, wouldn't you know it, her pupils wouldn't constrict and they were fully dialated again. But after a while the eyedrops helped and she was able to see them constrict. She's hoping it's only a "problem" that comes and goes, and whatever the problem is that's causing the dialation is something she's never seen before. She said it's not in the textbooks, because normally when that's happening it's accompanied by other problems, like, her face would be droopy, or she'd be in a non-responsive coma, so yeah, but that it went away, even if it came back, was very good.

The droop in her ear isn't the whole ear, it's kinda like Ouchie, where if she holds her ears up to hear a noise better, the flop at the top is different on the left than on the right, but she's also got a wound on the back of her ear there (her left eye also was really messed up but is looking better, and the head wound is on the left side of her head, so it's just where she got the most damage) so maybe when that heals? It's not horrible, just, a bit of a flop.

We're going back on Wednesday (or maybe Flar will take her) to get the staples out, and the doctor is just really pleased with her progress so far :) hope that helps *hugs*

Thanks. You give me lots more details than Flar does. :)

I'm so glad you're there to help with her. :):):)
