Tuesday in the Ozarks

So, driving around in this area, it is hard not to notice that we are in the mountains. But, I'm more used to roads that pretty much nestle into the mountains. In many cases, we are going from tip to tip... The roads are often like bridges from place to place, and one of the outlet malls is for all the world just like it's on the flattened out bit of one individual crag.

Yesterday we drove around a lot. By the end of the day, I had fresh oil in my engine, freon in my AC system (it was totally empty), and a bag-ful of bowling doorprizes in the car. I got most of the gifts at just one shop, that had quite an eclectic selection. The boys got a gadget or two while shopping, as well.

We ate brunch at I-Hop (my parents are great about letting me sleep in on vacations), then watched a movie about the Blue Nile at the I-Max. We hit two car places, an outlet Mall and Wal-Mart before we headed back to the timeshare. Dad stayed home and worked yesterday, so he was fresh for miniature golf with the boys when we got home, and Mom and I got to lounge around watching Voyager.

Tigger didn't feel like giong out for dinner last night, so I stayed home with him, Critter stayed home with me, and Mom and Dad went out in search of Catfish for dinner. We had a lazy evening of Scifi and video-gaming, and I went to sleep while Tigger was watching [adult swim].

Today, everybody let me sleep in til noon, and then I fixed eggs and sausage and toast for brunch. We're planning to go play minature golf at one of the fancier course, and then maybe swim back here at the timeshare.

Flar was due back in Lexington, so I'll get to talk to him tonight. Relaxing vacation continues...
