Yesterday I was totally grumpy by the time I got to work. Lots of driving errands, a tiff with Wal-Mart photo techs who have now become the new protectors of copyright, a double trip to CVS who are hands-off about the pictures, but don't send them to the printer until payment is rendered, so there was a delay I hadn't planned-in. I was rather wrung out from the morning, and rethinking this whole talking thing, as I expect it will be very emotionally draining, and I'm not sure what I'll get out of it. Then the final mood straw was Tigger losing his State Research Project folder. Critter found it after I left for work, and was sweet enough to call me.
Then Zee and I got to talking about it being the last day to use our free free lunch coupons that got included in the last paycheck. I was grumpy enough to turn down Chipotle due to the bother of getting back into the car, and we laughed that I was channeling Details. ;) Zee offered to drive, and it all of a sudden became a grand adventure, so off we went. They were slammed with other people using the same coupon, but nicely, the tips can was over-flowing. The guy at the register was nice enough to include my guacamole in the coupon. ;)
A half a burrito bol later, I was in a much better mood, and work until relatively early for this particular week. I managed 22 hours in three days, which is unusually high, and quite nice for a pay period in which I'm only working one of the two weeks.
Last night I arrived home to a wonderfully clean family room, courtesy my sweet older son, who is sleeping in on his head-start-to-break-day. This morning my sweet younger son the cook woke me with a freshly-pressed waffle. (Pressing is the verb for irons, right?) We left the house precisely on-time, and enjoyed close to zero traffic on the way in to school.
I'm optimistic about the day, and have my priorities lined up...
Towork!! (the battle cry of a slightly interesting housewife)
