The teacher started out by having us jump! And, then cross our legs back and forth. Oh my. This was warm up for the en garde, advance, retreat and lunge positions. By the time we were learning to hold the sword, you could have convinced me my shoulder would, in fact, fall off.
We got to pick buddies for some of the exercises. Critter, of course, was selected by the cutest babe in the class. Drool. I got a youngish fellow who will benefit from the calorie-burning features of the class as much as I will. ;)
My legs are alternately rubbery and frozen solid, but all in all, it was fun.
And the teacher said we only needed to practice the footwork for 5 minutes a day.
I can't wait to stop coughing so I can get back in the pool. :)
But, it did serve to remind me of that exhilarating feeling from exercise that I've been missing while sick. It's an eight week course, and it's definitely going to get me moving.
