When I shake my head, I jingle. I'm wearing red jingle bell earrings, and a large red jingle bell necklace. We haven't unpacked Christmas yet, so my light-up reindeer antlers are still tucked away. I went to the Christmas Sing-A-Long in my leopard-trimmed, purple Santa hat, instead.

I wore my normal bowling outfit this morning: purple plaid pj bottoms, a purple camisole in case the building is hot, and a shirt in case the building is cold. The shirt has multi-colored reindeer embroidered on it.

Tigger shares my enthusiasm for the season. We really enjoyed the music, although I should really get back into serious singing again; my voice started giving out just in time for the Hallelujah Chorus.

Worse than leaving a ball game in the eighth inning, is leaving the Sing-A-Long while the Chorus is still being sung. Why do they bother to come at all?

I had absolutely no traffic worries in the parking lot, and got home in the normal amount of time from downtown.

We said the Hannukah prayers over dinner, but as predicted, Tigger was too sleepy to stay up for lighting the candles tonight.

I couldn't find any of the zillions of dreidels we've collected over the years, but Tigger had a deck of cards, so we played Blackjack. But we didn't have a table, so I didn't get out the gelt for score-keeping. I did get it out to quiet rambunctious kids during one of the don't-sing-a-longs.

I miss Othello Pumphrey.

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.

With God as our Father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,

To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let there be Peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.

We may not do much decorating this year, between traveling; I've resigned myself to not having enough time to host a cookie baking party this year; but the Christmas spirit is with me, and I'm happy to usher in the season tonight.
