Routine Ramblings of an Occasionally Interesting Housewife

Mother's Day
The weekend included Mothers-to-be events, as well as Mother's Day itself. The shower for dubheach was on Saturday afternoon.

Visit with Wolf and Sydb was filled with a lower ratio of just us together time to commitments to others time than I'd like, but we don't always get to choose. I've honestly no idea when in the next two months we'll get a weekend with the kind of just us time that I like, though.

We did have fun in the little time we had, though. Sydb and I had muchly good stamping fun, and Wolf and I got to play a game of Munchkin. It's more fun to lose when you spend the bulk of the game ahead, I think. ;)

I drove home Saturday night so I wouldn't be in the way Sunday morning.

When I got home, it took me some time to get into the house. We are down to two kittens. Mamacat moved four of them, and we are left with Gandalf and Ms. Spots. (Tigger says it's Goliath - if I were any good at sexing kittens, I'd be able to tell.) Anyway, when they heard me arrive home, they put up a mewl and crawled out to find me. I tried feeding them kitten cereal, since I don't think Mamacat is feeding them anymore. They quieted in my arms, and howled on the floor. I nearly spent the night in the garage.

When I finally got in the door, there was a bouquet of purple roses on the kitchen table, and a box-o-PDA in front of it. I was sorely tempted, but it was almost 2am. There were more flowers in the vase beside my sink in the bathroom. Reward for cleaning, cool!

Sunday morning, the boys and Flar let me sleep late. Then they brought me breakfast in bed: Fresh-baked raisin bread made by Critter, scrambled cheese-eggs made by Tigger, and strawberries and cream by Flar. Flar brought me the "edited" Sunday paper - all the sections I read, except he left out the coupons. ;)

After breakfast, Tigger showed me what he made me for Mother's Day. He had played with my character in Toontown, to give her another category of gags and more laughpoints. We played in Toontown some after that, and then Flar got Tigger and Critter to help put dinner on the table:

Filet Stanley
Green Beans
Baked Potatoes
Jouis Jadot Beaujolais

Crème Brulée for dessert.

It was all very yummy and filling. We don't know who Stanley is, but he seems to like creamy sauces.

After dinner, I got Critter to assist me with the new PDA. It needed charging up before it would cooperate, and then the initial hotsync was problematic. We hard-reset a couple of times to Just Start Over. But I finally seem to have gotten all the data loaded in. It's nice to have a PDA which deigns to allows me to see its screen again.

While I was messing with the PDA, we watched Mona Lisa Smile and Cat in the Hat. By the time I was done with the PDA, I was ready to turn in for the night.

This morning, Critter unloaded/loaded the dishwasher, and the load of hand-wash that was left for me was small enough to fit on the drain-board this morning.

I've opened the mail - no bills, cool! and now I'm working on Quicken. This week I hope to finish out deeping cleaning the master bathroom, by cleaning the shelves around the tub and re-arranging the candles. I also need to scrub down the shower so I can start tackling it once a week again.

If you need help with the two that have been abandoned for now, I can come over and show you how to bottle feed them. It can get quite expensive to take care of as the milk you buy at the store (and the powder kind sucks) is rather up there in price, but it can be done. Unless you want to call your friend who does rescues, I'm sure they have someone who can care for the abandoned ones. Unless they are eating the kitten food, then nevermind lol. I'm pretty good at kitten sexes, having raised neumerously litters of kittens from birth and all...

Alas, we awoke this morning to no kittens. :(

I can only believe the kittens have found their mother and siblings. I don't know if Details will want to try to trap any/all of them for spay and release, or what.

Sigh. A blah day.
