Routine Ramblings of an Occasionally Interesting Housewife

Previous Entry Share Next Entry
Mardi Gras is recently past.

Purim was Sunday night.

And it turns out there's some Indian holiday today, called Holi.

Mardi Gras is a traditional blow-out party before Lent. Carrousing is common.

Purim is the Jewish holiday honoring Ruth(?) in which one is to get drunk enough not to be able to distinguish between some guys whose names started with H. Well, at least one name did.

Holi apparently involves imbibing Opium.

I'm thinking that I would like to get shit-faced drunk tomorrow night at bathtime.

It's seasonal.

It's Esther, not Ruth. Here's a link for more info on traditions and a yummy recipe for Hamentashen cookies (my favorite is apricot, too!) About Purim

According to this website, you're encouraged to party and get drunk, but not "shit-faced" drunk. ;)

Thanks for the correction.

And, I know - just drunk enough to not be able to tell apart two very different looking people.

I was just applying the shit-faced to what I wanna do at bathtime tomorrow night. In honor of three partying kind of holidays.

After all, opiates give me migraines.

Rum's the ticket. And I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow, so I should be able to find a nice red frozen mixer. Or, I might just throw strawberries, bananas and 'nilla ice cream in the blender with rum. Hmmmm..

Well, it's important that you remain sober enough to recognize Haman's name when you hear it while they're reading the Book of Esther, so you can attempt to drown it out. :-D

so, whose face are you supposed to confuse with Haman's?
