Twas a busy weekend.

Friday afternoon we found out that the water pump for the heating system needs replacing, and had to be ordered. As of this writing, it haven't come in yet, but the outside temps have moderated, and the household temp is back up to 57, from a low of 48.

Friday evening there was a some stressy people fighting triggered by more aggressive than usual dog fighting. Ick poo.

Saturday morning, I took Tigger bowling, and he chipped his tooth during an after-league practice game, learning to grip the ball with finger holes. The ball slipped out of his hand, bounced, and hit him in the mouth. I've already written about that. As of this writing, Tigger is feeling fine, no pain in his tooth. He understands his tooth has a 50-50 chance of making it, and the mention of "dead tooth" generates boyish death-throes sounds in response.

Saturday evening, we took Critter to Yamamoto to celebrate his birthday. His grandmother sent him a new outfit, packed into an impossibly small box. His great-great-grandmother sent him a check. Tigger bought him the new Steve Jackson game, Spooks. I bought him Mystery Rummy, case number 3 and Flar and I pre-ordered Deus Ex: Invisible Wars for him, and gave him an account at apple.com so he can download songs with I-Tunes.

The food at Yamamoto's is still very yummy, and still in generous portion sizes. Tigger ordered the Children's Hibachi Chicken. He ate all his onion soup and fried rice, and most of Critter's fried rice (a fair trade for the shrimp appetizer that Tigger doesn't like), about half of his vegetables and some of his chicken -- showing that he was recovered from his dental trauma. The rest made a nice take-home box.

I drove to Louisville from the restaurant, and the boys stayed home with Flar. They had pizza hut pizza and rented three movies last night.

Saturday night with Wolf and Sydb went a long way toward de-stressing me, but there's still a lot of stress laying about to re-activate on the drop of a hat.

We went to church twice yesterday. I've decided that I like going to church with Wolf and Sydb, for the worship through music. That evening was the church auction. Sydb has described the ado over the silent auction. Mostly, it just lasted really really long. Roo's congestion appeared to be moving into her chest, so we stopped by Kroger to pick up Dimetapp. There seemed to be a lot of driving yesterday.

We went to bed far too late last night, and I was feeling very stressy - of the variety that drives women to chocolate, and tearful bubble-baths. But definitely not the time of day for that. Wolf and Sydb were both quite worn out from the long day, and from the ado over the auction, especially Wolf. It was both tense and comforting to be between Wolf and Sydb in bed while I felt that way. Tense, because I didn't want to keep them from sleeping, but I wanted to scream or sob or get up and write a novel or drive home, but comforting, because I was held and covered and loved and wanted and it finally sunk in and I slept.

Today I spent with Sydb and Roo. After breakfast and email and LJ and packing, we picked Wolf up at his office and took him to lunch. During lunch, I called into work and found out that I wouldn't be working tonight, so I didn't have to get back to Lexington quite as early.

After lunch, Sydb and I took Roo to the park at Wolf's suggestion. She ran around the playground for a bit, and went down the open slide a couple of times. She likes climbing, and she's very steady on her feet, walking and running. It's really cool that I got the built-in carseats in my minivan, because now I'm using one for Roo. :)

After we got home, we sort of lazed around playing with Roo, and when she was ready for a nap, so were we.

It was nice to already have the car packed, and to nap before leaving, but it's always hard to leave.

Tonight I did the calling for the next chess tournament, and tomorrow I'll have to put together the roster to send in. I haven't heard back from the organizer, and the only contact information is an email address. grr.

Tomorrow is Critter's birthday. He's selected what he wants for breakfast and dinner, and what kind and shape cake he wants. I was going to bake the cake tonight, until I remembered that I needed to get the chess club calling done. So tomorrow I'll only be stopping at the allergist on the way home, to maximize the time I have for baking and dinner prep.
