As the Minikin turns, I suppose...

Sam's finally started stocking an alternative to what I used to buy. I swear I can taste the plastic it's packaged in, but at least I'm drinking more water again...

The paper is a load of ... Okay, so it's not that bad, and I actually like the smaller size of newsprint. But I miss the magazine format, and I keep finding things they didn't tell us.

Like, they said they'd move the serialized story to Tuesdays, and failed to mention that wouldn't apply until they finished the current story.

And the comic strip "Life in Hell" by Matt Groening has apparently been dropped, with nary a word of explanation.

Lessee, what else have I ranted about?

The stomach flu. Our family seems to have escaped it. Real flu. The sign at the allergist has changed from "We offer the flu shot here" to "There have been confirmed cases of the flu reported in Lexington." I talked to one of the nurses about the sign, while I was getting my allergy shot. I asked her what "confirmed" meant; I think she said there were two cases where bloodwork was drawn and tested.

Monthly emotional rollercoaster: this month's ride was down for repair. No big depressions or anger fits. I guess I got off easy.

And reporting on my goofing off; I've been fooling around with a new look for my web page, and decided to put it up before it's done. Check it out.

Oh, and I found out that an unemployed homemaker is worth quite a bit these days, simply on her word about household income. I'm currently in the process of transferring the full balance of one credit -- with wretched policies -- to another, with a very attractive offer (0% interest until Feb '03) and workable policies. I've already signed up for the automatic payments, so this account will never accumulate late payment fees. Woo hoo!

I took a look at your page..pretty cool so far. I also went to Critter's page, and tried to read the newsletter. It froze up IE and now I have a permanent placemarker at the bottom of the screen (at the task bar, I guess) for that window, but it's not there and won't do anything, including close. Was it something stupid I did on my end, or is there something wrong with the link? I'm leaning toward the first option myself.. ;)

Hmm. Works okay for me. (Don't you just hate it when people say that? Sorry.)

The links for the newsletters are PDF files. On my mac, Explorer opens up an Adobe Acrobat Plug-in to read the newsletter. Netscape opens up the actual Acrobat application.

Can you read any other PDF files?

Yes, I can read other PDF files. Our church newsletter gets published on their webpage a couple of days before they're mailed in PDF format, and I generally read it there before I get my paper copy.

I think the computer was just acting up because later in the day IE exploded altogether.

Maybe it's something in the air. I've been getting a lot more Error Type 2's on my mac, lately. Gotta figure out what the hell that means...
