Sunny Dominica

We're in port at Roseau, Dominica. Today's activity is a tram ride through the rain forest. I'm hoping to see those special parrots that Flar says they have here. Yesterday, I busted my shopping budget, but now I have earrings to match my black opal bracelet, and a ring with a new stone: Caribbe Topaz. More later...

Back to Nature

Dominica is a small island, with 60% rainforest. They export bananas and cocoa and vanilla and food crops, from what I remember in the informative talk by our tour guides. We took a mini-bus 3000 feet up from the beach to a Rainforest Air Tram ride. Our bus driver told us various facts about the island, including the school system (children attend school from age 3-18, wear uniforms - different colors for each school, and there are a number of private and public schools) and many of the local plants. Our tram tour guide was very knowledgeable about the flora of the island, as well as having a very pleasant singing voice.

After the excursion, Ro and I shopped about an hour before joining Knight on the ship. My feet are declaring that my diet must change, and pleading that I find an exercise that doesn't involve them. We ate lunch at the Lido Grill, and ordered dinner in to the room.
