The Thanksgiving

I'm thankful God saw fit to bless me with such wonderful children, and the time to be able to spend with them.

I'm thankful that Flar was able to get money in this week, enabling us to pay bills, and freeing him up to spend a week in Brazil with Gaucha.

I'm thankful that I am loved by Wolf and Sydb, and that I will be able to see them on Sunday.

I'm thankful that I am starting to see daylight through the tunnel of paperwork that I had let overwhelm me for so long.

I'm thankful for breathing space this weekend.

It's snowing.

The day after Thanksgiving is one my favorite days for snow. I don't think we're anticipating any accumulation, though.

I forgot to mention the surprise trip that W made to Iraq. According to the radio, he told Laura and his daughters, but he didn't his parents. They showed up at the ranch for Thanksgiving dinner.

I thought it was a pretty cool thing to do for the troops.

Okay, so not quite.

• Mail

  I've opened all the mail, and I'm almost ready to add bookkeeping to this list.

• Dishes

  I just got through catching up the dishes again, which always includes wiping down the counters.

• Paper

  I can count this for today, as soon as I track down the comics section.

• Laundry

  I've got three weeks of my clothes in a basket ready to fold, and another basket filled with towels to fold. But all of this week's laundry is clean.

• Coupons

  I took care of this one on Monday.

I made tuna casserole for dinner, using clam chowder as recommended in a recipe I read recently. The idea is good, but I think I blew it by adding carrots and mozzerella into the mix. Should have stuck with parmesan and more crushed chips. Oh well.

I did get up at 4am after all, so I'm heading to bed now.
