Today the bills, tomorrow the house!

I woke up more hopeful and ambitious than I have been in ages.

I'm going to put the bills back in their place, lonely silent requests quietly calling out from neatly filed envelopes...

It's 39°F here, with a light rain and a wind chill of 31°F. The morning weather report suggested the possibility of a wintry mix before the front finished passing through. As today's high is still predicted to be 40°F, that means Flar gets all the icky stuff, and I stay inside, warm and snug. Working on bills. In, by the way, a gorgeous room with a view. If you like that kind of thing.

Planning to call the plumbers for advice. They "fixed" a toilet for us in the guest bathroom, before Curls visited. That fix didn't quite work, so they were back out here on Friday. Explaining to me about how the correct valve for the toilet is horribly expensive, so they'd tried to replace a seal in it, and now this time they have tried replacing it with a standard valve. It's running every so often, now. I'm going to ask them if there's more alternatives than ordering and installing the expensive valve. If not, then we wait. Right now, the extra water's cheaper than the plumbing work.

The plan:
  • Fix breakfast for the boys.
  • Wash dishes.
  • Eat breakfast & read the paper.
  • Start family room blankets through the laundry.
  • Work on bills.
  • Leave for carline early enough to fill up the car and buy dogfood.
  • Work tonight.

Progress Report

  • Fixed pancakes, scrambled eggs & bacon for breakfast
  • Read the paper
  • Washed a comforter
  • Washed a drain-board and three towels worth of dishes, including scrubbing two nasty pots
  • Called the plumber

Flar just got a check from his deadbeat er, struggling start-up client. And there should be more later this week.

I've washed all the family room blankets, and dried the comforter.

I've eaten breakfast and lunch.

I've cleared a small number of piles off of the table, and paid the phone bill by phone.

I'm leaving in ten minutes (or as soon as Flar gets here to pick up the mortgage payment coupon and personal check, so he can take care of all the bank stuff in one trip), to get gas and dog food before I pick up the boys.
