news

Reading the paper is never quite so revealing as search the paper's website. There, one gets an explicit look at how the paper categorizes each story.

This one was under "politics."

Our civil liberties are politics.

Our protection from terroristic attack is politics.

I think it's a matter of personal opinion whether the article is about civil liberties or defense against terrorism.

But, if the article falls under "politics" then, are the "under 50" people being held without writ "political prisoners" ?

amusements

Our paper has a category in its side-bar menu called "Weird News." (Not to be confused with "News of the Weird" which is published in the paper on Fridays.)

The headlines from this category show in the aggregated news "front page" of the website, under the heading "We're Not Making This Up."

I need to spend more time finding the silly stuff. ;)

Bills

I've entered all of the bills from the pile into Quicken. The icky part is going to be figuring out how much money we actually have, how much we can use to pay bills, how much to borrow from "short-term" sources, and then send out the money.

But the pile on the kitchen table has decreased dramatically.

After shower, and after carline, I need to work in the jacuzzi room, because I can't reasonably plan to work in there after the dogs are abed.

Tomorrow I'm doing supply runs with Knight, who is bankrolling the paper supplies for the party. I've also got to remember a stop at the allergist, and prepare a short list for Kroger, including what I need to make the Peanut Butter stew.

Also need to put music on the iRock before I leave for work. Today I'm putting as much of Cats as will fit.

Time for shower.
