And new, cool stuff. Going to Indiana to see Cinder this week. Which means re-arranging laundry days and stuff like that. And leaving the boys, house & dogs with Flar to take care of them.

Much of the work I did in the kitchen is not un-done by Easter dinner, but there are more dishes, and I hadn't gotten all of what was already there washed.

I've got a bunch of stuff piled onto today, cause I'm not sure when I'll get it done this week, but I want to remember to do it. We'll see.

Gonna take my computer with me to Indiana, but I don't know how much I'll be using it. Much of the time allocated will be spent with Cinder or driving.

Gonna have breakfast, then decide where to start on today's list.

I forgot to turn on my alarm last night -- thank goodness I had the 7am one on, for driving Canuckgirl to the airport, or the boys would have been late to school. As it was, they had a rushed departure. Critter remembered his medicine, but he didn't have time to read the comics.

Headline from the Lexington Herald-Leader this morning:

China announces surge in SARS cases

Um, wouldn't it be more accurate to sayChina reports surge in SARS cases?

The details in the article mention that the announcement also included the removal of the minister of health and Beijing's mayor. Now, I'd see that information as announcements, but really, doesn't one report things like disease cases?

I feel like using the word announcement implies some sort of volition or causality by the announcer. Universities announce newly appointed coaches, or contract signings, that sort of thing. WHO reports on the latest death toll from whatever communicable disease they're monitoring.

Sometimes I'm just picky; that headline jumped out at me.

I'm actually leaving a little early, which should give me enough time to drop by Toys R Us and the allergist before I drive to school.

I dropped off yummy leftovers for Knight & Ro on my way to pick up Chamber of Secrets at Toys R Us. I was surprised by the tax, until I realized they didn't tax the deposit. Got my allergy shot today so I don't have to stop tomorrow on the way to Indiana, and got to carline before it shut down.

My boots came today. Very plain heels. Not sure if they will fit B&ecute;bé's definition of dress-boot -- he thinks I should have some, and gave me these for Christmas. But, I'm going to go try them on and see how they fit. The heel is a very low one, as the boot was based on a last made from boots that were flats. As long as the legs fit, they'll probably be very comfortable boots.

Ack! I just realized that gymnastics is at 5 on Mondays. Gotta scoot.

Tigger didn't miss too much by being late to gymnastics.

When I got home, Flar was splattering spaghetti sauce merrily away on the stove. He insists on cooking sauce on the front burner and pasta on the back, even though the front is the smaller burner. Grr. I chose to eat in the kitchen rather than join the boys in the family room, after squabbling with Flar over his mess. When he cleans the kitchen, he doesn't bother to wipe down the counters, much less the fronts of the lower cabinets (the splatter is pretty impressive), so I feel it's doubly inconsiderate to mess them up.

My boots came in the mail today. Bébé commissioned them from Erosul for my birthday, and Flar measured me. But he did it last minute, in a hurry. So they used the last for my other books, which means the boot can't have higher than a half inch heel. They're not very dressy looking, but they'll be warm in the winter.

That is they would. If they fit. But they don't. There's a lack of 2-3 inches around my calves. The reason to commission these boots was because my calves are too beefy for off-the-rack knee-high boots. Grr.

Perhaps by next Christmas, I'll have dress boots. Sigh.
