Writing in bed

Overall, it was a pretty productive day. Dinner was quick and easy, but that was to accommodate taking the time to do the grocery shopping on the way home from school. I got a grand start to the laundry, including a large bit of the hand-wash basket.

I've decided that chocolate is a necessary therapy. And Hershey's declares that a serving size of chocolate kisses is 9 pieces. Yum.

Sunny day

I got out my pedometer and messed with it, to see if it really seems to work. I set the stride length on 7', and shook it 75 times. Sure enough, it read .1 miles. So now I'm wearing it. I'll report when I hit a mile of everyday activity. ;) I should get lots of mileage at Universal...

I actually worked outside! I got started while I was talking to Wolf on his lunch, and then continued, while listening to talk radio. (I even resisted the temptation to listen to my Anna Russell album before the trip.) Flar fixed a sandwish for me while he was eating lunch, so I could eat without any work once I got back inside.

The froggie is spitting at a healthy volume again. I didn't touch the moss, but I got rid of lots of stringy algae, mud, sticks, leaves and walnuts. I pulled apart the filter, pressure washed the innards and repopulated it with flakey goodness. Then I stuck the pressure washer into one end of the supply hose to blow out the muddy buildup, then put the filter bucket all back together and sunk it in the pond. The water was still quite muddy when I left it, but that should clear up in a couple of hours of running time.

I should pull the top screen from the filter and clean it again in a month.

I think I'll wait 'til we're back from Florida to buy new anachris, water hyacinth, and maybe a couple of fish.

There's lots of grass peeking through the sod area; I hope I cleared the tree debris soon enough for more to fill in. There's a chance of showers on Friday, so I'm going to work in the flowers gardens and spread grass seed tomorrow. Quitting now meant time to eat lunch, sort and fold laundry, and get out of here in time for some errands.

A good day

Two weeks in a row I've managed to tackle the bills on a Monday morning. That's accomplishment enough, but today, I managed the first item on my list, even though it involved working outside.

I'm a bit sore after all the yard work. I should do it more regularly, since it's such a good work out.

I managed to leave the house in time to get in four stops before picking up the boys, but stopping at CompuUSA for Critter meant that I was rushed for time to make dinner. I got it started, and then Flar finished it, and he and Critter ate while Tigger and I were at the gymnastics center. That's where I got the coupons clipped, and where I'll get a solid hour a week to work on my cloak once I have it started.

I ended up directly behind spydielives in the left turn lane, and we pulled into my driveway one after another. She visited with Flar while I ate my dinner, and then we went to work on the hem. It's always kind of scary, cutting away that much material. But as far as either of us could tell, the new hemline appeared even. The pinning was really the hardest part. After that, it was really just additional trimming, and then a bunch of ironing. That iron-on seam tape is great stuff.

Now, all I've got left tonight is updating the bowling records, printing out the receipt forms for tomorrow, and folding the work towels and putting them away. Right now, we're watching Death to Smoochy. I never got around to seeing it when it was in the theatre.
