Minikin's Journal

The field trip was a mixed bag. I blatently set aside Teacher's car rule for volume level, but only while on the interstate. The boys loved it. We had screaming contests, and singing and the whole bit.

The planetarium itself was a bust. They had technical difficulties with the video projector -- it's not just a star show anymore -- and couldn't get them resolved. They refunded the school's money and handed out vouchers, so the field will probably be re-scheduled.

And now I've finished lunch, I have time for some actual housework. Woo hoo!

I vacuumed the jacuzzi room and kitchen. Then I mopped the laundry room (and ramp) and kitchen.

I decided the mop water & jacuzzi room floor were both too dirty to finish with the same bucket. Then I decided not to mess with starting another bucket of mop water, so I quit with the jacuzzi room vacuumed, but not mopped. It looks pretty decent, and the dogs will just mess it up as soon as they come in, anyway. But it's nice to have the kitchen floor clean again.

Which leaves me with enough time to get ready for Chess Club in a leisurely fashion.

I talked to a few parents about a year-end gift for Coach, and got a fund started. Tigger lost his Bey Blade, fooling around after Chess Club. Critter left with Adam: he's sleeping over, and will call tomorrow when I'm supposed to go get him.

We were already at the parking lot for Toys R Us when I remembered my car. It's not ready yet. Pout. On the bright side, the reason is because they tried to save me money and didn't replace the solonoids. When they put it all back together, one of the solonoids wasn't working. So I don't get my car until Monday, put I don't have to pay for the extra work. They were trying to save me money, and cost me time, instead. And S. was extremely apologetic about it not being ready yet. Although it's a hassle not to have my car, at least I can drive around Bébé's. And S. has been very good about calling with status reports and such. Not at all like the owner, who took over the close-by Powers, and is a jerk.

I bought a Wonka bar at Toys R Us. No Golden Ticket. But I got chocolate and graham cracker goodness.

Time for dinner. Zatarain's and smoked sausage. Not sure which Zatarain's, but they're all yummy to me.

I look at my list for the week, and I see hardly anything left. Oh, there's plenty around this house that cries out to me, but I didn't put any of it down for this week. Caught up on email, don't feel like reading more back digests to catch up on list mail, caught up on live journal, don't have much to write.

Not really sleepy, but tired, I think. Don't have enough umption to get up and go to bed and read. Don't think I should stay up late enough for a game. sigh. Maybe after I write for a bit...

Don't have to wake up by any time tomorrow. Cool. Should probably crate the dogs and bed down. Well, I have to be up and functioning in time to put together the Biker Boyz vest that finally got here from Canada, so I can get to the post office before noon to mail it to Texas.

There's supposed to be a cold front coming in tonight. Chance of rain tomorrow morning and snow tomorrow night. Wonder if we'll have any decent weather for working outside...
