I didn't get all the paperwork done, but I balanced the checkbook, and filed away the bills to post on Wednesday.

Then I got to work on the cake. Orange Sunshine Cake for Knight. Cooked filling, fresh squeezed orange juice, and grated peel. It's a sort of a production. But, it's already to frost tomorrow, when I get home from bowling and errands.

Knight's going to pick me up at AutoTech, and then let me use his car the rest of the day after bowling, while he sleeps. As usual, a number of things have been pushed back, and new things added, as the list evolves through the week.

I would have been to bed by midnight, but for a restart in the midst of writing this...

I had trouble going to sleep again last night. The night before, I wandered about the house letting it distract me into very trivial stuff. Last night, I went to bed. And still found trivial thinks to distract myself. Both nights, I didn't get sleep until I *ahem* amused myself. Last night, I even had trouble with that. Harumph.

It was so nice to have morning phone call with Wolf at wake-up time. I'm not sure I would have dragged myself out of bed in time for a shower otherwise, and well, let's just say that was important this morning.

So, yesterday's Rose is Rose reminded me of something. While other people's dreams about school seem to be either:

• showing up for class naked, or
• not going to school all term, and having exams

My dreams about school are always settling-in dreams. The term is just starting, and I can't lay my hands on the the room list, so I have to guess at where my classes are being held. Or, I don't have my schedule, so I have to guess at what class to go to next. Rarely, I dream I've just remembered I'm taking a class and having been attending it, or doing the work. But even then, there's no exam involved.

Well, I blew all my after-bowling time running around with my car. They re-charged the AC, and added dye to check for leaks. None immediately apparent, which is good. I'm to take it back next week to be checked. They found a problem code that indicates the transmission, and recommended a place to take it. I arranged to borrow Bébé's extra car, so I won't be stranded while they work it into their schedule.

I should have time for cake and card after school, but left everything else in the list for today, in case I have more time...

The frosting was much easier to work with, being refrigerated and then brought to room temperature. I think I'll try to do that in the future when I make this recipe. I need to get some good quality 8" pans, if I'm going to keep using the fancy cake keeper, though. The icing on the sides gets squished in it.

Ro is still the queen of stamping, at this end of the I-64 corridor... I think Tigger was more creative than me, in what he did to his envelope, with a scrap of rubber from trimming stamps. But Knight seemed to like my card nonetheless.

Dinner at Ro and Knight's was absolutely yummy! She even managed to make chicken breast yummy. (I'm a dark meat fan.) I'm a total goner for his mother's dumplings, oh my. The cake turned out well, and Critter pronounced it "too orange-y." Hee hee. We watched last week's episode of Angel after dinner and presents and cake.

Knight seemed to like the schlock I picked out, but I can't remember all the titles right now. Tigger made him origami wolves, and he also folded the dinner napkins to be wolves. They made the table look quite fancy. (It gets a headstart, being Knight & Ro's dining table, which is quite fancy to start.)

And now I'm getting ready for bed while I wait for Wolf to call, on a late-night phone call. Perhaps I'll sleep better tonight. :)
