bundled up, walkabout, snow

I'm *sort of* working...

Okay, so I ate breakfast with the boys -- French toast, in honor of the goofballs running the food service for Congress -- and I haven't even started the newspaper, another time gobbler. I was intent on starting with the kitchen. After all, I got over half the counters clean last night.

Then I decided on finding entertianment to clean by. Our remote controls are migrating to some better place. Feh. I decided to stick the Jonah DVD in the Mac, and look for The Song That Plays under the Credits. No such luck, but I wrote down all the lyrics. I'll put that in a separate post. Then I decided to read email and live journal. Now I have to get to work, because I've run out of fun excuses.

The list:

Tuesday - Orange
Today - Yellow

Afternoon update

Things aren't going well for Wolf at work. He thinks he won't be able to come on the date. I'm trying to be more optimistic. And wishing there were more that I could do for him, besides being a sympathetic voice.

Making good progress on the kitchen. I think I've got another hour in here, then I can move on to planning dinner and setting more of the house to rights.

The ever continuing saga of a mild mannered housewife

Word from Louisville sounds bleak. Keeping my fingers crossed. Is it right to pray that your date doesn't get cancelled by a work day from hell?

Dishes are done. Nummy leftovers for lunch. Parts of the kitchen table are now visible...

A silly song

It turns out I can't record sound from DVD on the Mac. Hmph. At least I managed to write down the lyrics:

This is the song that runs under the credits
These are the credits, so this is where it goes
Has nothing to do with the movie so we'll say:
Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey

There once was a song that ran under the credits
That went with the movie, but this is not that song
Has nothing to with the movie so we'll say:
Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey

Oh wouldn't it be nice if the song under the credits
Had something to do with the movie you just saw?
But that's not the case, so for now we'll have to say:
Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey

There should be a rule that the song under the credits
Remotely pertains to the movie's basic plot
That has not been made, so for now we'll have to say:
Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey

[this is followed by a full verse of just "hey", which breaks up into lalala and babading ling, and voices deciding to go home]

This song was played at the end of an NPR radio article about Jonah, and is the reason I took my children to see our first Veggie Tales offering. At this time, we own two Veggie Tales DVDs.

And, the paper I wrote it on was on the kitchen table, so it relates to my current task, so there.
