I had time between bowling and rainsticks to go by the pet store, so now the dogs have food again. Critter showed me their empty food canister for the first time this morning.
I think Timothy hit his own thumb thrice, and mine a bit more, but considering how many nails he hammered into that cardboard tube, I think we did well. There was a vat of "noise" -- a combination of all the stuff the kid had brought in. Tigger brought in wasabi peas.
After rainsticks, I went to Meijer, where I ordered a cake and bought a frame. Then I went to Joseph-Beth, where I bought the new Tanya Huff "Keeper" book, and a gift certificate for Coach. By then, there wasn't time to go home, so I bought Schlotsky's for lunch (they let me use a one-day-expired coupon) and drove back to school.
When I got home with the boys, there was an enormous box in my chair in the kitchen. Thank you, canuckgirl! She sent me a wonderful basket chock full of goodies. Flar commented on some of the yummy stuff in the basket, so I'll be sharing. ;)
It was my day for packages. I also got the Firesign Theatre CD from Amazon today.
I've been letting dishes slide, and one of the things that was waiting to be cleaned was a griddle loaded with bacon grease. So I finally buckled down and finished all the dishes waiting to be cleaned. I scrubbed the grill rocks especially carefully, remembering the grease fire we had last year during the PWP (a very small one -- just smoke and fuss). And I scrubbed the griddle down really well, and then re-seasoned it with shortening. We can have french toast for breakfast tomorrow. (I threw away the bananas -- they were past using.)
Dinner is almost ready. Knight got to sleep late, so date night will be late. Flar is taking Critter to school tonight to watch the freshman show.
I've still got bills to do, and the certificates for chess club. Dinner now.
