I showed him my pedometer tonight. It has steps for today and yesterday, including bowling yesterday and grocery shopping today.

Calories: 580
Okay, the miles thing is how many miles those steps would have represented, if made in a straight line, at my average stride length, which I programmed as 2' 1" after doing the recommended measurement exercise. Many of my actual steps are step and pivots, back-tracking, that sort of thing.
But the 5.48 miles figure impressed Flar. Even for two days time.
Go me.

I want to make it a habit to wear it, report it & reset it regularly.
