While I was shopping for Kittybane's birthday present, I found a cheap digital pedometer for me. It has a steps readout in addition to miles, and it also has a calorie readout, based on entering my weight.
I put it on before bowling yesterday, and found that I took over 2400 steps, just bowling. By this time today, I've clocked 11,046 steps. If they were all the 2'1" that I've entered for stride-length, then that would be 4.36 miles. It's only 478 calories, but it's something to measure, and perhaps to increase over time.
My plan is to report number of steps each evening before bed, and reset the counter.
