Whee! Yes, the repair was expensive. But he gave me a 12 month parts and labor warranty on the work. Woo hoo!

I have my car back. Yay! Tomorrow after school, the boys and I are going to empty it of anything that shouldn't go on the trip to Florida, so that I can take it to the carwash on Wednesday.

I stopped by the craft place. Darned if I've already forgotten the name of it. I put my name on their mailing list, this time, though. They specialize in needlepoint. She said I'd be happier with embroidery floss, given my particular project, and pointed me to Wal-Mart. This will be second time I've tried to give this lady my business, only to be sent to Wal-Mart for cheaper prices. Next time I've an idea for a needlepoint project, I'm definitely starting there. ;)

I can't finish bills and stuff till Flar comes down from his office, so next up is fixing dinner: baked chicken, slippery noodles and cooked carrots. Menu by Tigger.

The list:

Would you have time in that horribly busy schedule to help me shorten a dress for a wedding I am attending this weekend? If not, I will take it to a professional seamstress, but I am afraid they won't be able to get it done in time. I just bought the dress in Maine during the trip and need to take about 18 (yes 18) inches off it.

I think I can help. What's your schedule? I could work on it Wednesday or Thursday evenings, ideally. The only problem is, my sewing machine is starting to act up. It won't wind bobbins anymore, and since I don't know why, I'm not sure if the rest of it is about to give up the ghost.

I can certainly help you with marking the hem, and cutting it off. If you need anything fancy like raising the waistline, then I'm lost.

The dress fits me like a glove, its just an evening gown and I want a cocktail dress.

If you are any good a machine hemming I will bring mine along -- and Wed works for me. What time is good?

I get home with the boys by 4:30. If I have dinner already assembled to cook (Tigger wants sweet and sour hamballs), I won't be distracted by that, so anytime you want to come over is fun. I've got various alternatives for food if you want to eat dinner here, unless you've recently added ham to your diet, in which case you're welcome to join us.

Bring your machine. I've got a new pair of sewing shears, but my pins keep going wandering, so if yours are handy, bring them, too. I've a yardstick that we could use to try to keep the hem even, in old-lady-in-the-dept.-store style. :)

Oh, ACK! This is the first week Tigger is taking gymnastics, so I completely forgot about that when I was answering about time. I have to leave here to head over to Hartland about 5:30, and expect to get home by 7:30. So, it probably wouldn't help for you to get here before 7:30. But that should still give us plenty of time to get it figured out.

So head over by 7:30 pm? I can do that easily. Thank you so much for your help (and wait til you see the dress -- 2nd had store find for $15 -- it looks fabulous on me other than hanging around my ankles)

Then I will see you on Wednesday night...
